1. What is bouldering?
Bouldering is climbing on low walls without ropes or harness. You climb up to 4.5 metres high, with thick mats to land safely. See also: Your First Visit
2. Do I need experience?
No, bouldering is suitable for everyone, from beginners to experienced climbers.
3. What should I bring?
Wear sporty clothing. You can bring your own climbing shoes or rent them from us.
4. Do I need to book?
Booking is not required. For groups of more than 8 people, this is mandatory. Send an email or use the contact form. School groups must contact us in advance.

7. Is there guidance for beginners?
Bouldering is very accessible: most beginners simply drop by and start climbing right away. You don’t need any prior experience, and you’ll pick things up quickly as you go. Would you still like a bit more guidance? Then you can join an affordable introduction lesson. During this session, a motivated instructor gives you a short explanation of the basics: how to fall safely and how to move efficiently on the wall. You’ll get practical tips on technique and posture, so you can climb with more confidence and enjoyment. You can find more info about the introduction lessons here.
8. Are children welcome?
Children under 12 years old may climb under supervision of an adult. The guideline is one adult per two children.
9. Can I bring my dog or other pet?
Unfortunately not: pets are not allowed in the entire building.
10. Can I organise a children’s party with you?
No, this is not possible.
11. Is it easy to park at Walden?
There is a large car park that is also very cheap. Staying less than an hour and a half? Then you park for free. To park for 4 hours you only pay 1 euro in total. You won’t easily find cheaper parking in Ghent!
